Intro

Do you know the status of your servers and the services that are running on them, if you find out that one of your servers is down when your customers phone up complaining, this can be very embarrassing?
check out my method of handling this common situation
.Work

I specialise in NAGIOS installation and configuration have all your hosts monitored, including customised alerts when services go into warning status, performance charts, certificate expiring and more.
In the past ten years or so I've brought peace order and comfort (workflows and documented processes) to development teams, by completing server admin functions, that free up the developers to do what there good at, writing code.
I'm focused on deploying effective processes, tools, and technologies that make dev teams agile and efficient.
When I'm not patching servers and upgrading application software, I'm a photographer, cyclist and made car enthusiast.
About

How is your development team spending their time, writing code hopefully and not installing and maintaining application software versions and server patches?
I make it my priority to make the developments team's life easy, by handling deployments, Middleware app Server configurations, database connections, and the day to day tasks you are not paying your dev team to do.
Workflow is an import aspect of any well-oiled software creation machine, which is why I spend much time learning the in and outs of tools like mercurial, maven, nexus, confluence, Jira, and bamboo. I can work with the flow from customer request to documenting the heck out of any changes, and to keep the flow happening consistently, I will automate the deployment and builds.
Well call me old fashioned, but if you can't measure it you can't improve it, that's what my old dad used to say, but I digress.
